TMDS181: Usage difference of TMDS181 and SN65DP159

Hello team,

I received a question from my customer about the usage of HDMI retimer TMDS181 and SN65DP159.

The customer is currently designing a printed-board using Xilinx's "Versal AI core".

Their evaluation board, Xilinx's VCK190 contains two TI HDMI interface devices, but they couldn't find out why they use two separate device for RX and TX, instead of using two same device.

They both have a built-in retimer function. Does TI have any guidelines for usage of these two device? Or should they contact the EVM company to figure it out?

Looking at the block diagram from the Xilinx VCK190 user guide. The TMDS181 input is connected to HDMI_IN which is DC-coupled. The DP159 input is connected to the FPGA which is a AC-coupled signal.
