Hi Team,
My customer plans to do HDMI2.0 compliance test for their sink-side application with TMDS181.
Is it required for the following implementation to pass HDMI2.0 compliance test?
(datasheet Figure 35)

Yaita

The TMDS181 drives the HPD signal to 3.3 V, which meets the HDMI spec requirements. But if 5 V HPD signaling is required, then the circuit shown in Figure 35 are required.

David-san,
Thank you for your reply.
I found your comment in the following thread.

>The HPD_SRC is a 3.3V signal while the HDMI requires the HPD to be 5V.

Do you refer we can connect HPD_SRC to HDMI connector directly to pass HDMI2.0 compliance test?
If so, what situation 5V HPD signaling is required?

The HDMI compliance requires the output characteristic of the HPD on the sink side to be min of 2.4V and max of 5.3V for Vh. So from the compliance perspective, HPD_SRC of 3.3V will pass the test.
But some source may require 5V HPD signaling, so you will need to level shift the HPD_SRC from 3.3V to 5V.
So it will be easier to level shift up the HPD_SRC and satisfy both the compliance and certain source requirement.
Thanks
