Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DP83TD510E, USB-2-MDIO
Hi team,
While evaluation the DP83TD510EVM, my customer encountered some problems which led to the following questions.
1. Is it correct that it's not possible to get standard ethernet (IEEE 802.3) out of the RJ45 connector when connecting one EVM to the network and one to a laptop? How would this be possible?
2. Is it correct that the DP83822 PHY on the EVM is not recognized by a laptop when connected through a CAT5 cable in the RJ45 connector? I would think it should show up in device manager.
3. For what is the functionality on the EVM used to configure the DP83822 as MASTER and DP83TD510E as SLAVE as stated in the DP83TD510EVM User Guide (Rev. A)?
4. Does something else need to be configured besides the scripts from the DP83TD510E Cable Diagnostics Toolkit when using the TDR function on the DP83TD510E PHY? Because register 0x001E keeps the HEXvalue 4000 and 0x030C becomes 0000. How can I get this to work?
5. Why is it not possible to start the PRBS function using the USB-2-MDIO Tool? Also with the extended register option enabled it doesn't work. This is the error message I get:
In the setup I've selected PHY ID 00 in the software, the EVM is powered by an external power supply with 5 VDC and the connection is verified present with the SQI register.
Thanks and looking forward to your response.
Regards,
Obinna.
