TPS65987D: How can I confirm slave address

Part Number: TPS65987D

First, I don't know how can I confirm the slave address of TPS65987D.

I saw the slave address from a number of device tree files about TPS65987D.

When I confirmed the slave address in a number of device trees, it is represented as either '0x38 or '0x74'.

Which slave address is correct?

Also, how to know the slave address?

  • Hi Yohan,

The I2C address will be different depending on which I2C port you are referring to. For most applications, the default address for I2C2 will be 0x38.

However, for I2C1, its address will depend on the ADCIN2 setting.

To confirm, when you read from the configured address, the PD controller should 'ACK' if it matches up correctly.

Please refer to the section 8.3.12.3 I2C Address Setting of the datasheet for this info.

    Thank you,

    Hari
