Dear TI support team,
We are in the process of a product redesign and would like to switch from another manufacturers PHY to this TI part. A blocking issue is however the lack of access to 'raw' TDR data.
The TDR feature in the DP8386x series, accessible in registers 0x180 onward, implements an automatism by which the PHY automatically sets TDR parameters and only provides five measured peaks locations.
This is unfortunately not suitable for us as we have our own TDR post-processing algorithm, which requires the 'raw' amplitude data at a given time window.
In the earlier generation of PHYTER chips, direct access to the TDR generator and receiver was possible, so we wonder if this would be possible through other registers in the DP83867 as well?
