TMDS181: HDMI2.0 compliance test result (HF1-9)

Guru 29720 points
Part Number: TMDS181

Hi Team,

I found HDMI2.0 test report in the following E2E thread.
https://e2e.ti.com/support/interface-group/interface/f/interface-forum/716467/tmds181-faild-in-hdmi2-0-intra-pair-skew-compliance-test-hf1-4

However, there is no result for HF1-9.

Did TI confirm that the device passed the test?

Yes, the TMDS181 will pass HF1-9.

    Thanks

  • Hi David-san,

    Thank you for your reply.
Could you share the test report?
My customer wants to get it.

    Best Regards,

I don't have the data, but the summary report shows HF1-9 is passing.

Keep in mind the capacitance of the external ESD will also impact the HF1-9 measurement. So it is best to chose low capacitance ESD devices and place them near the connector.

    Thanks

  • Hi David-san,

    Thank you for the information.
I would like to ask an additional question.

    1)
My customer considers doing HDMI 2.0 compliance test with their application and he assumes I2C control.
Regarding transmit termination, should APPLY_RXTX_CHANGES need to be set?
The datasheet doesn't refer to APPLY_RXTX_CHANGES so I would like to confirm just in case.

    (datasheet page 46)

    (Configuration Guide page 1-2 )

    2)
    I believe "TX_TERM_CTL pin=NC" isn't required when I2C control.
Is my understanding correct? Is the following typo?

    Best Regards,
    Yaita

The TX_TERM_CTL = NC is the default setting. But when switching from pin strap mode to I2C mode (I2C_EN = 1), the TX termination will be overwritten by Register 0x0Bh[4:3].

APPLY_RXTX_CHANGES , Self clearing write-only bit. Writing a 1 to this bit will apply new slew, tx_term, twpst1, eqen, eqadapten, swing, eqftc, eqlev settings to the clock and data lanes. Writes to the respective registers do not take immediate effect. This bit does not need to be written if I2C configuration occurs while OE or hpd_sink are low, I2C power down is active.

    Thanks
