TS3USB221: Are there any restrictions on the order and timing to input to OE (6-pin) and S (9-pin)?

Hi Team,

My customer have one question about TS3USB221.

The IC has OE (6-pin) and S (9-pin). Are there any restrictions on the order and timing to input to these pins?

For example, input a high or low to the S pin 10 ms after a low input to the OE pin.

Hi Jo,

The parameter you are looking for is t_ON in the datasheet. See section 6.8 Switching Characteristics, VCC = 3.3 V ± 10% or 6.9 Switching Characteristics, VCC = 2.5 V ± 10%.

So t_on means the time needed for D to response after OE or S is triggered?

And is there restriction for the order of OE and S? I mean, is there any difference if we trigger OE first or S first?

Hi Jo,

Correct, for S state to control D connection OE must be low, Table 1. Truth Table. OE must be low before S can control which channel is connected. There is no timing restriction between OE and S (OE can be tied directly to GND).
