DP83826EVM: How to perform 100BASE-TX compliance test on DP83826I chip?

Part Number: DP83826EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: USB-2-MDIO

Dear team,
Hi, I want to conduct MDI compliance test based on 100Mbps using USB-2-MDIO.
If you look at the Register Description, in the case of 10BASE TEST, it is stated that the register can be set so that random bit data can be transmitted.
It is confirmed that these functions do not exist during 100BASE TEST.
When conducting a 100M standard compliance test, we will inquire about the compliance test standard.
If I set the standard as the worst case, wouldn't it matter?

If there is a standard from TI, we request that you also deliver the value of the relevant partial register change information.

If there is no special standard, we ask if it is necessary to change only the register values below. If there are any corrections, please reply.

Bit[4] ini Register 0x0428=0010, Enables 100Base-TX Test Modes
Register 0x0027 =0001 to 001F

Thank you.

  • Hello,

For all 100BTx testing you need to do following settings and normal available test hardwares from multiple vendors detect the required pattern themselves :

    1. PHY reset : reg<x001F> = x8000

    2. Force 100BTx mode : Reg<0x0000> = x2100

    3. Force MDI mode : reg<x0019>[15] = 0, reg<x0019>[15] = 0

    4. Soft reset : reg<x001F> = x4000.
