TPD6S300A: Proper ESD protection device for USB 3.1 Gen2, DisplayPort 1.4

Hello team,

I have received a question from my customer about the USB ESD protection device TPD6S300A.

My customer is searching for a device for the USB Type-C connector, and they listed TPD6S300A as an ESD protection device. so I want to check the specifications.

Is this device the proper ESD protection device for USB devices that meet the following criteria? If there are better device for this usage, we would like to know it.

USB 3.1 Gen2 (10Gbps)
DisplayPort 1.4（Alternate mode）

Hello,

The TPD6S300A only protects the CC, SBU, and DP/DM pins. For the SS pins, you will still need to use discrete diodes for ESD protection

Thank you for your response. I understand TPD6S300A could not fulfill all the requirement at once.

Just in case, are there any other device in TI portfolio that could be used for all the protections above?

Or if there are device which could be used for SS pin protections, we would like to know about it too.

Sorry for the late reply. I explained that we could not provide all protection in one IC, and suggested combination of TPD6S300A and other diodes.
