SN65LVDM050-Q1: SN65LVDM050-Q1

Part Number: SN65LVDM050-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN65LVDM050

Hi TI support,

I have a question regarding SN65LVDM050-Q1 part number.
Within its datasheet (i.e. SGLS128A − JULY 2002 − REVISED APRIL 2008), it is mentioned that the transceivers can run up to 500Mbps, with some power dissipation characteristics at 200MHz for Driver and Receiver.

We implemented this components for these characteristics on several of our boards.

I also did check the following technical documentation: . SLLS324J–DECEMBER 1998–REVISED JULY 2009 (for SN65LVDM050).
Same characteristics are given for the power dissipation at 200MHz (for both drivers and receivers), however: Table 1 shows that maximal data rate is equal to 100Mbps (-> 50MHz).

My question is the following: Shall I consider the same data rate for the SN65LVDM050-Q1? Or can you confirm that SN65LVDM050-Q1 is operating fine at 100MHz (i.e. 200Mbps)?

I do have some doubts since I do expect that both components are very similar.

Thank you in advance,
Marc

Please give me few days to check and see if there is a difference between the SN65LVDM050-Q1 and  SN65LVDM050.

But everything in the switching spec looks the same between the two, so I believe you can use the max data rate in the Table 1 of SN65LVDM050 datasheet for SN65LVDM050-Q1. But let me check and make sure this is the case.

    Thanks

Sorry for the delay on this one, the DIE is the same between the two device is the same, so you can use the MAX data rate in the Table 1 of SN65LVDM050 datasheet for SN65LVDM050-Q1. But I am not sure why SN65LVDM050-Q1 would have max data rate of 500Mbps.

    Thanks
