ONET1151L: 10Gbps DC Input Arbitrary pattern drive

Part Number: ONET1151L

Hi team,

My customer is looking for laser diode driver which can support 10Gbps DC Input Arbitrary pattern drive.

Could you please recommend a suited device?

Best,
Zeming

  • Hi Kong,

I am not sure what we mean by arbitrary data pattern. Can we say this is a data pattern in the range of PRBS7 to PRBS31? ONET1151L needs to be AC coupled. Knowing the data pattern would help to optimize the AC coupling Cap value for DC response.

  • Hi Nasser,

Thanks for your reply. I confirmed with the customer. He is looking for a device used for short pulse laser drive

The arbitrary pattern is something according to DC coupling. (For example, repeat 100ps pulse emission and pause for a while)

So it's not completely random or AC modulation like 64b / 66b. It may not be the expected usage as a device, I think that it will work if the common level and amplitude of input are adjusted appropriately, is it possible?

  • Hi Kong,

This part has been characterized for typical data patterns such as 8/10bit coded or 64/66 bits coded or PRBS data patterns. However, operation over other patterns is no characterized and data sheet parameters are not compatible. Therefor this is not recommended - to use device using patterns other than patterns noted.

  • Thank you Nasser, understood that our devices may not support this special use case.
