PCA9306: Can PCA9306 be replaced by SN74LVC2T45?

Customer want to use PCA9306 in new VR Glass project, but there is always no stock. So could they use SN74LVC2T45 to replace?

For what protocol? The SN74LVC2T45 cannot be used for I²C.

Hi Marc,

The SN74LVC2T45 has a DIR pin that would need to be changed every time the operating direction of the device is switched. This would make communicating with this device in I²C very difficult. Instead of using the SN74LVC2T45, I would recommend using the LSF0102 to replace the PCA9306. The LSF0102 costs less, has a slightly wider voltage range, and is similar internally to the PCA9306.
