LMH0397: 3G SDI Eye mask requirement

Hi,

I am using LMH0397RTVT cable driver and equalizer in my design for 3G SDI Interface. I will be doing SI analysis for my board. Can you please let me know the receiver eye mask requirement for 3G SDI interface.

I explored on the availability of 3G SDI electrical specification, but couldn't find anything handy. So if you have these details available with you that would be helpful

Hi Shifali,

For 3G SDI requirements/specification, please check SMPTE 424 specifications. This specification covers both transmit and receive specification for the 3G SDI. LMH0397 is compatible to this spec.

Hi,

I am not able to get SMPTE-424 specification handy. Can you please share the receiver eye mask value. And what is the minimum insertion and return loss values required as per SMPTE-424 specification

Hi Shifali,

Legally we cannot supply you with SMPTE 424 diagrams or spec. Please refer to the figure 8 of the data sheet with respect to the SMPTE return loss requirements. Also, SMPTE does not have a minimum insertion loss. Please refer to the first page of the data sheet regarding LMH0397 cable reach.
