DP83TG720EVM-MC: Clarification regarding Low power mode

Part Number: DP83TG720EVM-MC

Hello TI Team,

We are trying to capture low power mode(EEE - Energy-Efficient Ethernet) waveforms in 1000BaseT1. So there is sleep mode mentioned in DP83TG720EVM-MC user guide.

So first we have configured normal mode and made communication between two PHY and after sometime we stopped communication and wait for 20-25min and observed waveform for low Power mode condition but we did not get zero voltage for 3.6us on wire which is low power mode condition.

Secondly, We have configured sleep mode as per mentioned in user guide of DP83TG720EVM-MC and perform above scenario but we did not get the Low power mode signal.

Here we observe that in both mode(Normal and sleep), Only PAM3 signal is coming after link up of both PHY.

Below red rectangle show the configuration of Modes which we used using DIP switch in board.

In DP83TG720EVM-MC user guide, definition of Normal mode and sleep mode.

Also as per IEEE Std 802.3bp-2016, In the InfoField of PAM2 signal, there is one bit called EEEen which shows the PHY has support of low power mode(EEE capability) or not.

So, When we have captured the PAM2 of both(Normal and sleep) mode and decoded InfoField and checked the EEEen bit. And it is 0 in both the modes.

So we are little bit confused that DP83TG720EVM-MC has support of low power mode or not. Or mentioned sleep mode is what kind of mode?

Could you please check and confirm same?
