TCAN1042HGV: The difference between TCAN1042HGDR and TCAN1042HGVDRQ1

Part Number: TCAN1042HGV

Hi

Can TCAN1042HGDR replace TCAN1042HGVDRQ1?

  • Hi Gareth,

The Q100 rated devices are tested and qualified under the AEC 100 standard to ensure quality and robustness in safety critical applications. Devices labeled with the "-Q1" suffix have undergone additional testing to ensure they meet the requirements for demanding end applications such as automotive systems. Non-Q1 rated devices do not have significant differences to those that qualify for the Q100 rating, but they forego the extra testing so compliance to this standard cannot be guaranteed.

If the Q100 qualification is not required by the EOM, a non-Q1 device can be used in place of an unavailable Q1.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

  • Hi Eric

    Thank you kindly reply

Then the version without "v" can be replaced by the v version?

  • Hi Gareth,

The 'V' suffix indicates that the device supports internal logic level translation using pin 5 (Vio). For non-V devices, this pin is a NC. If the voltage translation is not needed (Vio = Vcc), or translation is done externally, a non-V device can replace a V variant. If the swapping the other way, Vio should be connected to Vcc.
