DP83TD510E: Correct register address for SQI

Hello,

we managed to get a stable link over more than 1km. Now we want to analyse the link quality over the Signal Quality Index (SQI), which is explained in the cable diagnostics app note.

The app note says the corresponding register is 0x0A85. But in the datasheet there is no register 0x0A85. Instead I found register 0x0872, which seems to be also relevant to SQI.

Now, which one of the registers holds the correct value for SQI?

Hi Moritz,

Both 0x0872 & 0x0A85 registers give Mean Square Error (MSE) however the MSE Value to SNR mapping is different (i.e. there is a fixed scaling factor between the 2 values). You may refer to the app note for register 0x0A85 and the appropriate scaling factor for this register.
