Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TUSB1002A
We'd like to implement a TUSB1002A redriver with the HD3SS3220 mux. What signals require AC coupling caps, and where should they placed? Thanks

Hi,
You would put the AC coupling caps on both the TX and RX between the host and the redriver. The spec defines the caps to be min 75nF and max 265nF. Typical cap value can be 100nF or 220nF.
Between the redriver and the HD3SS3220 is going to be DC coupled.
You would also need AC coupling caps on TX1/2 and RX1/2 between the HD3SS3220 and the connector. The cap value for TX1/2 can be 100nF or 220nF. The caps on RX1/2 is optional but I recommend to add them. The value is 330nF.
I would also recommend using 201 size to minimize impedance discontinuity.
Thanks
