Hi team

Could you please tell me the software differences between 962 and 964? Customer would like to change from 964 to 962 due to the 964 shortage supply issue, so they would like to know the software development differences and difficulty. I have known that in hardware they are pin to pin replacement, but how about the software aspect? Thank you.

Hello Zirui,

the 964 is a DVP Hub Deserializer, which means it works in RAW mode and has a 28-bit packet, but the 962 is a CSI Hub Deserializer and works in CSI mode with a 40-bit data packet.

You can replace the 964 with a 962 device but you need to make sure you adjust the resistors voltage divider on MODE pin and on IDx pin.

In terms of registers you should change registers 0x58 and register 0x6D.

Hello Zirui,

you need to make sure you configure the 962 with the exact register values as the 964. Best will be if you read all registers from the 964 after configuring it, and then apply these to the 962.

Yes, once you configure the 964, copy all registers and apply these to the 962.
