DS90CF364A: Chip layout rules/tipps

Hi there,

as I was choosing the DS90CF364A for a lvds to ttl converter to signal a display. To use it I will be creating a single pcb with ffc connectors on each side with the chip in the middle.

Are there any (official) DS90CF364A related layout rules or design proposals/examples out there to use? Unfortunately I couldn`t find any related information in the datasheet of the chip.

Hi Thomas,

We do not have any specific layout guidelines for the legacy devices. I would suggest to use the high speed design best practice and apply to your layout. I also found there is a LVDS user's guide that might help you.

thank you very much for your answer. I also found this guide:

where there is additional information about connectors and bypass caps on various supply pins. There is also helpful information about keeping the power supplies "clean" which might result in careful pcb layouting.

Hi Thomas,

Both guides might be useful when you start your layout. The LVDS guide has some layout guidelines on page 43.The bypass caps should be placed as close as possible to the power supply pins. For the connector, it depends on customer's application.
