TPS65987DJEVM: Power Delivery Flashing

Hello,

We are currently using the TPS65987DJEVM to generate a flash that can be programmed directly to the TPS65987D via a MCU. We need to source 9V (preferred but not required) given an input of 5V. First, is this possible? If so, does the EVM need an external adapter such as Aardvark or the FTDI for flashing? We have attempted to flash the EVM through J3 and with all the switches on, but the application customization is unable to detect an address. Please let us know how to fix these problems, thanks!

"..TPS65987DJEVM to generate a flash.." >>> Could you clarify this statement? If you are flashing external SPI flash, it can be done using GUI and Tiva USB interface on the board.

Do you mean you have selected Tiva as Adapter and ran "Sweep I2C address..." but not seeing any device? If yes, please check I2C trace to see if its GUI issue or PD controller is not responding.

Thanks for the tip, I have resolved the above issue. We want to sink power from VBUS to PPHV1, and were wondering if it can be done without any external SPI flash. We want PPHV1 to be able to source anywhere from 4V - 29V, so could our power delivery module do so by default?

Hello,

External flash is needed to store patch. This cannot be supported by default fw.
