TUSB542: Inquiries about the application circuit

Guru 11510 points
Part Number: TUSB542

Hello,

My customer has some questions about the following TUSB542 application circuit in the TUSB542 datasheet.

The customer thinks this is a float setting when using a 4.7k pull-up/donw resistor on the B2 pin. Is that correct?

Why is the 4.7kohm pull-up/down register used only for B2 pin among the CNFG pins?

Thank you.

The connections for CNFG pins of TUSB542 is example only.

Refer to Table 2 and section 6.6 Electrical Characteristics, DC, floating voltage means VCC/2. So having both pullup and pulldown resistor will result in VCC/2 -> Floating.

It is recommended to run an overall system signal integrity analysis, in order to estimate the channel loss and configure the re-driver. It is also recommended to have pull-up and pull-down option on all the configuration pins for debug and testing purposes.

    Thanks
