Looking for an alternative to SN65LBC172A16DWR, and considering the SN65LBC174A16DWR.

The only difference between these devices seems to be how the ENABLE is handled. Is that correct?
[2]
The Electrical Characteristics, Figures and Eye Diagram, along with equivalent input/output schematic diagrams in the datasheets are identical between these two devices.
I have rarely seen such identical characteristics between "different" devices.
Is it safe to assume, we can expect identical behavior between these two parts, if one was swapped for the other? (Obviously ignoring how the Enable is handled)
[3]
The 174 seems to be slightly "higher performance" that 172, as the datasheet classifies things like input capacitance, etc.
Because of this, I'm assuming the 174 undergoes a few more tests which the 172 doesn't, to ensure higher reliability...does that sound about right?

One more thing...in the Datasheet, Electrical Characteristics classifies MIN, TYP and MAX values.
I have heard the MIN/MAX are 6σ outliers, while TYP is around what most devices will exhibit.
Is this understanding here correct?
I am asking because while the specs are identical, I'm just wondering if one device might lean a little closer to the MIN/MAX than the other...
Or if the TYP for both devices should be around what is listed as TYP in the Datasheet.
