DS90UB962-Q1: DS90UB962-Q1 is 3Gbps while 960 is 4.16Gbps

Part Number: DS90UB962-Q1

Dear team,

My customer use four 935 to connect to 962, and every camera is 1920*1080@30fps, YUV422 8bit. Can our 962 support this four cameras? Every camera's bandwidth is 1920*1080*30*2*8*1.2=1.2Gbps, then four cameras' bandwidth is 1.2Gbps*4=4.8Gbps. I don't understand what 3Gbps is. Is it the camera bandwidth(4.8Gbps)?

Thanks & Best Regards,

Sherry

  • Hi Sherry,

Yes, the 962 can support the four cameras. The CSI-2 output of 962 just needs its lane speed and number of lanes configured such that its output BW is larger than the input BW. For example, at 1.6Gbps CSI-2 lane speed and 4 lanes, it has an output BW of 5.53Gbps.

For more information regarding the CSI-2 aggregation and bandwidth calculations, see CSI-2 Aggregation Breakdown video on FPD-Link training center for more detailed explanation of calculating input and output bandwidths.

    Regards,

    Logan
