DS90UB941AS-Q1: can it support 1080p60 with deserializer ds90ub940

Hi Experts,

I'm trying to bring up DS90UB941 and DS90UB940. 941 is used to serialize MIPI DSI and 940 is used to deserialize it.

For now, ds90ub940 has worked successfully with resolution 720p60.

On page 133 in 941's datasheet, "The DS90UB941AS-Q1 can support up to 170MHz pixel clock when paired with DS90UB940N-Q1 , and up to 192MHz pixel clock when paired with a DS90UB948-Q1."

But I tried 1080p60. It failed. And as described in datasheet Page 1, the maximum pixel clock for single FPD-LINK is 105Mhz. Pixel clock of 1080p60 is 2200x1125x60=148500000. It exceeds the 105Mhz.

Could you help to confirm that the maximum resolution and frame rate of DS90UB941 when it works at single FPD-LINK?

Hi Justin,

As the pixel clock for 1080p60 is greater than 105MHz, single link will not support this. This is however supported by dual link, as dual link can support up to 210MHz for 1080p60. When using single link the maximum resolution must have a pixel clock that does not exceed 105MHz.
