DS90UB933-Q1: Deserializer DS90UB960-Q1 with SSC

The 933 is a DVP serializer and cannot be used in sync mode with the 960.  960/935 will work with SSC but not the 933.

Hi Nick,

Our project has two scenarios, 1). 960 pair with 935*4 , 2) 960 pair with 933*2 + 935*2. The camera module that use 935 no external OSC and work in sync mode.

On our board TI960 has EMI issue and we use SSC OSC to improve it. Could we use it in sync mode to pair with 935 * 2  and in non-sync mode to pair with 933 *2 ?

Hello,

Thank you for sending over the diagram it helps a lot.  Your scenario 1 will work just fine as long as you are operating in synchronous mode.  As fir scenario 2 you may have some issues sustaining lock since the 960 will be using SSC and 933s will not.  I think this would cause the PLL to struggle to LOCK to the forward channel.  Allow me to take a deeper look here though.

our also need your help for registers setting.

1. we need TI recommended 960 and 933 reg settings in case of TI960 SSC to pair with 933?
2. Does this above setting be able to apply in the case of TI960 without SSC to pair with 933?

Hello,

Yes, sorry so basically I was wrong.  960 can pair with both the 935 and 933 with SSC.  Shouldn't need to make any changes actually since the 933 will send the forward channel as normal and the 960 will lock to that.
