I got a question from customer about TUSB217-Q1.

Q. Can the I2C support fast mode(400kHz)?

Q. Is there any restriction about I2C which we should be take care?

Hello,

A1. No, the TUSB217 only supports 100 Khz.

A2. The I2C interface supports 1.8V or 3.3V, not 5V.

Q. Can you please let me know the usecase of I2C? This is because customer want to know if there is any usecase which I2C is mandatory.

In my understanding, I2C mode advantage are

- DC boost and Edge boost level can be controlled individually

- No need for change external component

Hello,

I2C access is not mandatory for the TUSB217 device. I2C allows for easier configuration changes and separate boost settings.
