LMH1218: Signal Lock status Issue

We are using LMH1218 for SDI-12G.

We are facing issue with 12G signal.

If we give 3G and 6G from FPGA it is working properly but when we try to give 12G input to the LMH1218 the "Lock" I/O is change its state continuously. Does it requires to change any register value in LMH1218? 

Another Query is In LMH1218 Out1(for optical), Does it supports 12G optical SFP module?

If yes, then it can simultaneously streams 12G in BNC and Optical both?

  • Hi Jaydip,

    1). Given your description, i think this could be related to the not setting optimal CTLE or FR4 gain settings. Please note - as noted in data sheet and programming guide - there is an initialization settings to force CTLE to 0x00. Default CTLE value is for a long trace and high dB loss. This setting may cause over equalization and this could be why you see CDR getting locked/unlocked.

    2). Yes OUT1 supports 12G SFP and you can simultaneously use OUT0(BNC) and OUT1(SFP) outputs.
