SN65C3232: SN65C3232 TX Short Test can not Pass

Dear Sir/Ms.

My customer reported that they designed SN65C3232PWPR on their machine and needed to short-circuit the TX. The customer's circuit cannot be placed on the forum, I use a simplified diagram instead.

My customer short-circuited the TX and then removed the test to be able to communicate again. I can’t see this specification on the datasheet. Could you please give me some P2P IC suggestions?
The known specifications are as follows
VCC 3.3V
Baud Rate 19200

I'm not sure I understand what's needed here. So the customer needs to short-circuit the TX of the SN65C3232 device, but needs a new part number?

Yes! Customers need a new P2p device. A device that can withstand a temporary short circuit of TX. Could you please give me some P2P IC suggestions?

Kami,

TRS3232E and TRS3223 are both pin-to-pin compatible with the SN65C3232 and have the ability to communicate at 19200, as well as supplied by 3.3V.

Can you elaborate on what is happening with the customer device when they short TX to GND?

Hello Eric,

Customers sometimes short-circuit TX and GND when assembling the finished product. Caused by SN65C3232 damage. So RD simulates the situation encountered during assembly and short-circuits TX to GND. The customer has given me their test report and a part of schematic, but the customer does not want to put it in E2E. If you need it, I can email you privately, my Email kami.huang@arrowasia.com .
