TPS65988: SPI flash selection

Part Number: TPS65988

Hi,

Due the material shortage, the customer recently change their SPI flash for PD FW. After using the new part (see datasheet as attached), they failed to load PD FW from it when they use Total Phase tool with error message as below. Will you help to judge if this SPI flash does not meet the requirement of TPS65988DH or what?

Hi Antony,

The requirements for the SPI Flash must be that it is powered via LDO_3V3, has a size of atleast 64kB and must have a minimum erasable sector size of atleast 4 kB.

However, from the failure it looks like the adaptor could not verify a connection to the target first. I would recommend making sure the devices are receiving power and the flash is ready to be programmed.

Hi: Please note that the Flash needs to be connected directly to the Aarvark SPI pins. The TPS65988 does not act as an I2C to SPI bridge.

I would agree with David here and recommend double checking the SPI pin connections.
