TCA9617A: Could RD connect TCA9617A A-side to A-side?

Part Number: TCA9617A

Could customer connect TCA9617A a-side to the other TCA9617A a-side?

  • Hello,

Connecting the A-sides of two TCA9617As together is fine. The B-side of the TCA9617A is the side of the device that has connection restrictions. The B-side of a TCA9617A cannot be connected in series to the B-side of another TCA9617A or a device that incorporates a static voltage offset.

Also, could you clarify the meaning of "RD" in the thread title?

    Best,

    Kenneth

  • To clarify what A-side connect to A-side is again. Engineer designed TCA9617A in series application. Is the connection OK?

(RD means research and development engineer. sorry, make you confused)

  • Hello,

Yes, this connection is ok. A-side to A-side and B-side to A-side are both connections that are ok to make with this device. The only connection that needs to be avoided with this device is B-side to B-side (connecting the B-side to any other device that incorporates a static voltage offset on the connection side should also be avoided).

    Best,

    Kenneth
