TUSB8041-Q1: AC coupling caps placement on RX lines

Part Number: TUSB8041-Q1

Hello,

I'm designing an integrated 3.0 hub which will be used as a connector card with PCI-E edge on a SBC to connect it to another main board I'm also designing.

I know from TI datasheets that on TX lines I must put the AC caps the closest to the connectors, so for the upstream line I put them on the hub board connector side, and for the downstreams I put them on the main board, closest to downstream connectors ports.

My question is for the RX ac coupling caps: should I put them the same way ? Or should they be put as close to the IC as possible ?

Thanks in advance

Johnny
