Hi sir,

My customer is looking for a GPIO expander, we need interrupt function and make LED blink.

Will TCA9539 be suitable part or you have other recommendation?

    Hello,

    My only concern with using the TCA9539 is the limit on the sourced current of this device. The current sourced by all I/Os must be limited to 80 mA for each octal. So that means all I/Os on P07-P00 can only source 80 mA total. The same goes for P17-10.

    We actually make an LED driver I2C device called the TCA6507. However, it does not have an interrupt function. Depending on how much current you will be sourcing for the LED you can use the TCA9539.
