Dear team,

My customer do the ESD test, and they feedbacks that the video display is not smooth, there will be a phenomenon of lag when doing ESD test. We try to improve this phenomenon by changing registers,

1. Change the VOD amplitude. Do we have any registers for VOD configuration?

2. Change the deserliazer's AEQ setting. We try to disable adaptive EQ, and increase EQ value. But I don't know how to change the EQ value? Why do we have two settings, bit 7:5 and bit 2:0? What is the relationship between bit 7:5 and bit 2:0?

Hello Sherry,

Changing the output Vod is not something the customer is meant to do. If trying to perform better during ESD tests there a few things to try.

Better grounding
Increase the error threshold to reduce the likelihood of AEQ adaption
Capture frames so that they can be frozen if an ESD event occurs

As for the EQ stages you should take a look at this app note https://www.ti.com/lit/an/snla301/snla301.pdf. EQ stage 1 and stage 2 are described in section 3.1 in table 4.

Sorry, this test is Portable Transmitter Immunity/PTI instead of ESD test. Currently they move the deserializer and display outside of the test room, they can't see the phenomenon of lag, but the display still show frame loss error. Do we test the PTI test? Do we have any improved solution for this test?
