TPS25750: TPS25750+BQ25792 sleep

Part Number: TPS25750

I have managed to configure the devices to work and have the I2Cr and I2Cw commands now operating.

However, I have noticed that once a charger has been connected and removed, these two components are consuming a lot of current. How do I shut down these devices to achieve uA idle current consumption?

There is little or no information in the documentation covering power modes and sleep.

Hi David,

Have you tried the Sleep Control Register (0x70) as shown in the TPS25750 TRM?

Yes this is the first thing I tried... It is already set to 0x01. I wonder what the timeout is set to and how you change this? Also... I wonder if the TPS25750 will turn off the BQ25972?

Hi David,

The default of this sleep time is not set. Basically when this is set it will go to sleep mode instead of waiting for system to be idle for this sleep time. It will not turn off BQ part. Are you able to isolate the BQ part and just see the effect of this sleep mode setting on your board?

Thanks for the reply but I'm sorry I don't really understand what you mean regarding setting the sleep time?

Can anyone advise what registers to set for both ICs to turn them on and off?

Hi David,

See the highlighted statement of the sleep config below.

This is the only register to put it to sleep, to shutoff altogether you can remove the VIN3V3.
