TPS25750: about TPS25750 power path

I noticed when TPS25750 operate in source mode, there will be 3 power path.

PP5V (3A) and PPHV (when bus voltage>5V) PP5V_CC（315mA）

But in the actual power-bank case, the PP5V(3A) power path will cause inconvenience which require a buck-boost from battery to get an 5V 3A.

1. Why not merge the 5V 3A source path with PPHV source path? Is there some other consideration when design this PD controller?

2.In the source mode, If the negotiation of PD determine the BUS voltage>5v, TPS25750 will choose PPHV path and close 5V3A path. If =5V, TPS25750 will choose 5V3A path and close PPHV path. Is it right?

There is only one USB source path which is PP5V. PP5V_CC is required to support e-marker cables, that is not a power path for VBUS.

PPHV power path is for sink only, you can refer to this figure in datasheet. For source operation 5V source is minimum requirement.

I guess PPHV power path can also be source. So the USB-C port can get 60W even higher power from the battery.

So the source power path for VBUS: PP5V (when VBUS ask for 5V), PPHV (when VUS ask for higher voltage). This is the thing I feel curious. Why design this product like this?

Yes, PPHV can also be source but there are limitations. PPHV doesn't have current limiting like PP5V.
