LMH0074: Carrier Detect with HD-SDI input

I am looking for some clarification regarding the Carrier Detect output of the LMH0074. What would the state of CD be if a 1.485 Gbps HD-SDI signal is present at the equaliser input?

Since the LMH0074 is a 270 Mbps SD-SDI equaliser, I would expect CD to remain high (no signal).

Is the state of CD based purely on input signal amplitude or does it also take into account the input signal bit-rate?

Hi Sam,

Typically CD is based on the data rate. Having said this, some of these parts are derivative of higher speed parts and CD section uses the same IP - thus CD could be active even at higher data rate.
