DS90UB962-Q1: DS90UB962-Q1 lights up 4CAMERA issue

Hi Team,

There is a good new that we could DIN DS90UB962-Q1!

Customer currently use UB962 to light up 4 megapixel cameras and there is a noise problem. Currently, the highest test can light up 3 cameras at the same time.

We also tried to increase the oscillation frequency to 26MHz. The situation has improved, but there is still noise. Currently, it is suspected that the communication frequency has reached the upper limit.

Test information

1.4 X Camera AR0147 : 4 X 1344X968 30p 16bit/12bit  >>> have noise problem

2.3 X Camera AR0147 : 3 X 1344X968 30p 16bit/12bit  >>> test OK

3.CSI_PLL_CTL 設為1.664Gbps

  • Can you please confirm followings:

    30 Fps and RAW16 ?

    Which Serializers are you using?

    Which clocking mode are you using? Synchronuous or Non-Synchronuous ?

    We tried both RAW16 and RAW12 in 30 Fps,the results are same.

    2.Which Serializers are you using?

    3.Which clocking mode are you using? Synchronuous or Non-Synchronuous ?

    Customer set as Synchronuous mode.

     

  • Hello Kygo,

    the data rate you are using is relatively low and should not cause any issue.

    What I believe is happening here is you have some issues with the transmission channel impedance, such as return loss, and insertion loss, or cross talking between the channels.

    One thing you can do is to test your links one by one using our MAP-Tool. This will tell you if you have any issue in a specific channel.

    3. Which clocking mode are you using? Synchronuous or Non-Synchronuous ?
    Found their schematic design is different with Datasheet.
    So they change the mode by modify 953 register 0x03.

    0x10: CSI-2 Synchronous Mode, Result:3 input is ok, 4input is no screen
    0x12: CSI-2 Non-synchronous external clock Mode, Result: no screen
    0x13: CSI-2 Non-synchronous Internal AON Clock, Result: no screen
