DS90UB948-Q1: Link Fault Detect

Part Number: DS90UB948-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS90UB949-Q1,

Hi team,

DS90UB949-Q1 has the following Fault Detect instructions at datasheet 7.3.12 Serial Link Fault detect, and I wonder if the DS90UB948-Q1 also has this capability?

The customer has another question to ask you:

After the UB948 detects a backlight anomaly, it then reads the backlight IC register value (such as Open, short) via I2C and sends the specific fault error to the UB949. My question is, how long does it take from I2C to read the register values  and then send them to the UB949?

Best Regards,

Amy Luo

  • Hi Amy,

    • The UB948-Q1 has a similar GENERAL_STATUS register (0x1C), however unlike the 949 GENERAL_STATUS register (0x0C), this register does not report errors. The full description of this register can be found in section 7.7.1.29 of the 948 datasheet.
    • The application note SNLA131A has details about I2C communication using FPD-Link III with bidirectional control, and may be useful to understand the potential speed of the signal in question.

    Regards,
