TUSB2077A: How should I connect BUSPWR pin when hub is self-powered and downstream devices are bus-powered?

Part Number: TUSB2077A

Hello, I will use TUSB2077A hub on a motherboard and upstream port of the hub is connected to a CPU module in the same board.

Therefore, the hub is self-powered (I think).

However, downstream devices will be bus powered (6 devices, each will draw current up to 500mA).

In this situation how should I connect the BUSPWR pin? And I also wonder that how should I connect the DP0PUR?

Thank you!

  • Hi Bestami,

Yes, the hub would be configured as self powered.  DP0PUR should be connected to the 1.5K to the upstream DP line.

Please make sure that your system can source 3A of current simultaneously, the hub is not capable of limiting power consumption.

    Regards,
