Hi Team,

I have two questions from customers.

Question 1) What is the required specification of the cable to be used?

 I understand that there is more flexibility in cable selection than standard Ethernet.

 I would like to know if the vinyl cabtyre round cord (VCTF2C-0.5SQ) used in the transmission cable of the existing system can be used.

 *The communication distance is about 25m.

Question 2) If set the Input Clock to 12.5MHz, will it work? (The opposite PHY is assumed to be set at 12.5MHz.)

 The customer doesn’t need a transmission speed of up to 10Mbps.

    1. Required cable specification depends upon the required distance over which data is to be transmitted. Can customer share the s parameter file of the desired cable? Though 25m does not seem much but I am not aware of this cable type and could not find anything online.

    2. 510E PHY is based on 10BaseT1L protocol. To meet this protocol and link-up with the far-end PHY (on other side of cable) of 10BaseT1L specs, it will need 25MHz input clock. Can you please clarify if far end device is 10BaseT1L compliant device?

    1.VCTF2C-0.5SQ is a cable product of FUJI ELECTRIC WIRE.

    There is no English website, so it may not have been found by you.

    I can't find any specific bandwidth or impedance specs, but the customer said differential 80-120 ohm.

    2.I know 510E PHY is based on 10BaseT1L protocol.

    Since it will be closed within the customer's system, the opposite PHY will also use the same product.

    The customer was wondering if it was possible to reduce the transmission speed by slowing down the clock.

    It will be best if customer can try out the required cable with the 510 EVMs (EVMs also has option of giving external clock) . This will give them the proof of concept for their usecase.
