TCAN1044A-Q1: What is the difference between TCAN1044A-Q1 & TCAN1044V-Q1

Hi Team,

There is a good new that we could DIN TI product!

Customer is looking for the TCAN1044A-Q1 & TCAN1044V-Q1 ,

But I don't know where is the difference? Please help clarify THX

    Hi Kygo,

    The 'A' version of TCAN1044 is qualified for European OEMs as it is capable of passing the Zwickau certification tests. If this certification is not requires, TCAN1044 (non-'A') may also be used. There is no difference in datasheet specifications between the 'A' and non-'A' versions. 

    The 'V' suffix demotes the internal level shifting feature of the device via the Vio pin. This feature is available for both 'A' and non-'A' devices.

    1. If the end customer is TOYOTA!
         Do you recommend using TCAN1044A?

    2.  Is our current main product is TCAN1044A or TCAN1044V?

    Hi Kygo,

    I will send you an email offline with an answer regarding your first question.

    The 'V' version of these devices (TCAN1044V or TCAN1044AV) should be used if the internal logic-level shifting is required to support logic levels different from 5V. For applications which can used 5V digital logic, either the non-'V' versions or 'V' versions (with Vio connected to Vcc) can be used.
