DS90UB960-Q1: DS90UB960 - POC inductors adjust to 5V

Part Number: DS90UB960-Q1

We made a design with DS90UB960WRTDTQ1  (inputs are 4 cams of FPD-III and the MIPI receiver is NVIDIA NX SoM)

Our design has only 5V as input source (VDD_SW_FPD1_4 net) . will the POC circuit work with this voltage , what are the recommended inductors values for such voltage (the original schematics are based on 9-12V source)

  • Hello Yaniv,

It is not recommended to have only 5V as PoC voltage. Do not forget that you have multiple components such as 2 inductors + 3 FB on each side of the link on the PoC filter. These components will cause extra voltage drop. Additionally you will have the voltage drop of the cable.

Hence, we recommend you to have a PoC voltage in the range of minimum 7 to 8 Volts.

  • hi

thanks for your fast reply , but at the moment i can replace the FB and the inductors. the source voltage is fixed to 5V. are there any recommended FB and inductors to improve the voltage situation given a fixed 5v source?

    thanks in advanced

  • We do not have any other suggesstions than what is available on the datasheet. What I would recommend you is to use inductors/FB with lower RDC to minimize the voltage drop.
