SN65DP159RGZ has I2C-over-AUX function Therefore, HOST VBIOS (Intel CPU) only needs to set DP with HDMI compatible DP port can be displayed by AUX communicating with HDMI monitor through DP159 But currently the system DP is connected to DP159RGZEVM HDMI and there is no display Is there somewhere I misunderstood it?

Hi,

Is the source DP or DP++? The DP159 can only support DP++. For DP to HDMI, you would need an active protocol converter.

How does I2C over AUX work? Isn't it through AUX to notify HOST to switch to HDMI?

Hi,

A Source that supports a Type 2 adaptor has the option to support either a native DisplayPort AUX channel or a DDC channel. If
supporting AUX, then I2C-over-AUX transactions are used to access the adaptor DDC registers and Sink DDC channel. The DP159 with its I2C-over-AUX will translate the AUX from the Source into I2C to the Sink.

Hi,

For DP++ to HDMI2.0, you can use the TDP158 or DP159, and then use the HD3SS215 for the switch function.

We do not have DP to HDMI switch solution since it requires an active protocol converter.
