LV24EVK01: User's guide

Hi team,

I got additional information from the customer.

Here is the difference between the EVM and User's guid.

-Circuit configuration around JP17
-VR3 and R33 have been deleted.
-Wiring path of RIN+/- signals connected to J8 and J9

Could you provide us with the latest circuit diagrams, parts lists, and wiring drawings?

Thank you for pointing out the differences, we will look into the customer's claims. As of right now, the User's Guide you see on ti.com is the most up to date document for the LV24EVK01 EVM.

Just wanted to inform you that the LV24EVK01 is a legacy device so it will take time for us to locate the documentation for it and look into the customer's claims. 

Also, there are the DS92LV2421 (Tx) and DS92LV2422 (Rx) devices described in the user's guide. Which device is the customer looking at exactly?

I do want to inform you that this is a legacy product and we are not actively supporting it, so it will take time for us to locate supporting material for it and look into the customer's claims.

Thank for checking in. Unfortunately, we are not able to locate the layout files for this board. This is a legacy device that was released over 10 years ago and we were not able to find the files in the archive. Thus, we will not be able to support you this time; my apologies.

Hi Shruti-san,

The design of this board has been recently changed. Therefore, there should be information of what has been changed. Since this is a design change for EVM, I don't think it matters whether the device is legacy or new.

I talked with the customer now. They said they can't evaluate without the information of the modified EVM. Since they purchased this EVM, we are obligated to provide the information.

I understand. We didn’t make a change to the LV24EVK01's EVM recently so far as we're aware. Why do you say it was recently changed?

I will look into the differences you mentioned in another device's EVM similar to the LV24EVK01.

Hi Shruti-san,

Thank you for your support. We provided the LV24EVK01's EVM to another department of the customer around February 2020, and the EVM at that time was the same as the current User's guide. Therefore, I believe that the EVM was recently changed.

Hello Yamaguchi,

The LV24EVK01 EVM is a mature product and we have not made any changes to this EVM. The datasheet that you see on ti.com is the latest datasheet. The user's guide has the revision and the date "Rev 0.3 Aug, 2010." 

It could be that your customer has an older version of the EVM and that's why it is not matching the current datasheet. Can you ask them what version of the EVM they have or when it was purchased?

On your end, can you please compare the EVM you provided to the other department and the user's guide the other department has and share what you find out after comparing?

Thank you for the advice. 

It seems that the customer purchased 3set of the LV24EVK01's EVM in Mar.2021 and these are not matching the user's guide "Rev 0.3 Aug, 2010. 

I got the EVM picture that they purchased and comparison between User's guide and the actual board. Please see the link below.

The EVM I provided to other departments in Feb.2020 matches this user's guide(Rev 0.3 Aug, 2010).

The customer mentioned that VR3 and R33 have been removed on the Rx board they purchased. Should I ask them to populate R33(0ohm) and VR3(50kohm volume resistor) on the board?

Also, they mentioned that RIN+/- wiring paths of J8 and J9 are different between the Rx board they purchased and User‘s Guide Page.16(Rev 0.3 Aug, 2010). Is the board that customer purchased different from P.16, but the same as the schematic on P.13? If so, I think it is no problem.
