TCAN1051HV-Q1: TCAN1051HV-Q1

Part Number: TCAN1051HV-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TCAN1051HV, TCAN1051
Hi,
please conform following features are available in the TCAN1051HV?
  1. CAN interface allows for compliance with both CAN Open and CAN J1939.
  2. CAN bus shall be a CAN 2.0b port with 250Kbit or 500Kbit rate.
  3. The baud rate shall be determined using Autobaud functionality.
  4.  Termination resistor of 120 Ohms that can be populated or depopulated based on needs

Note - automatic baud detection at startup to confirm whether the

  • Hi Sagar,

All of the applicable features described here are supported by TCAN1051.

    1. Both CAN Open and SAE J1939 use the ISO 11898 standard for physical layer definitions. This is the standard which TCAN1051 is designed and compliant for. This transceiver is capable of supporting the data rates defined in both of these standards.

    2. Yes, this transceiver (non-'G') supports data rates up to 2Mbps. The CAN 2.0b refers to support of extended IDs, which does not apply to the transceiver.

    3. The transceiver needs only support the maximum data rate required by the system. It does not care about the actual data rate beyond the maximum and minimum capability of the transceiver.

    4. Termination should be placed at the end-points of the system, each with a value to match the impedance of the cable used (120-ohm typical) for an overall resistive load of near 60-ohms. See the application section of the datasheet (9.1) or this application report for more information.

Let me know if you have any more questions.
