TPS65981EVM: Sink 9V Profile configuration issue

Greetings of the day..!

We are using the TPS65981EVM board for our Sink mode application. ( PD Dock or Monitor Application) but facing challenges to set profile and FW configuration. 

Application : Sinking Current from mobile (PD circuit ) as input 9V@3A and TPS65981 consider only VBUS to PP_HV Internal supply configuration. 

EVM HW : Changed Default  EVM Configuration

BUSPOWER: 1.8V

DEBUG_CTL1 : 3.3V

FW Configuration.

TPS65981 GUI Build Version 6.1.2

Followed Step : 

  1. Firmware Base image : TPS65981_2_6_v0001_12_11.bin
  2. Port setting : 
    1. System Configuration :

PP_5V : Disable 

PP_HV : Output

PP-EXT : Disable

USB Rp Enable : Yes

  1. Sink Capability :
    1. Sink PD : default 
    2. Sink PD1: 9V @ 3A

Flash binary but not getting 9V profile. Let me know if any modification require.

Please guide us and provide TPS65981.prj file and 5V and 9V flash binary for double check.

    I will start this discussion with the statement that the TPS65981 is a very old part that is not recommended for new designs and cannot be certified for operation with current Power delivery systems by the USBIF, so I strongly suggest that you look at the TPS25750D or the TPS65987D (If you require alternate modes) as an alternative device that is more current and supported.

    To get started with your configuration, I suggest that you follow the following path on the GUI:

    Select Project-->New Project and select the TPS65981 (NRND)

    Select the Standard Implementation

    Select the Up Stream Facing Port

    and load this configuration onto you EVM to get started with a sink only application.  

    Once you are able to connect to the board in this configuration, then you can start to adjust the Sink PDOs and other items to meet you system needs.
