DS90UB948-Q1: Can GPIO pin stand short to ground in a long term when output high?

Part Number: DS90UB948-Q1

Hi team,

The customer using GPIO in an unusual application. They output GPIO high, but shorted this pin to GND. The datasheet says the shorted current is 35mA in 1.8V dvdd.

 1) Dose the GPIO use push-pull structure like the following picture?

2) How the GPIO shorted current limited to 35mA? Does it connect a resistor above the PMOS?

3) What's the effects of shorting GPIO pin to GND in a long term when output high? Can the PMOS stand such 35mA current in a long term? or does the device have any other protection?

4) Could you please provide the specific  GPIO structure of 948 inside?

Thanks and looking forward to your reply : )

Best regards,

Cathy
