DP83869HM: Request for Power/Current Distribution Over Supply Rails

Thanks Vikram, this thread became easier to find after I posted the question.

Another thread: https://e2e.ti.com/support/interface-group/interface/f/interface-forum/785209/dp83869hm-require-detailed-current-draw-specifications-for-three-supply-mode also gives per-rail current information which I believe is nominal since the sum is close to 483mW total provided in the datasheet. However, the max current for 1.8V provided in the first link is less than the nominal for 1.8V VDDIO and VDD1P8 in the second link. Can you help clarify this?

I am not sure if I am seeing what you are seeing :) . I see 60mA being indicated as max current on vdda1p8 in first thread and 52mA as nom on second link. May be you can put the numbers you are comparing and I can check for any reporting discrepancy.

Yes, the currents specified in the second link for the desired implementation are:

Supply                  TYP(?)

VDDIO (1.8V)     17mA

VDD2P5               88mA

VDD1P1               119mA

VDD1P8               52mA

The max current supplied in the second link are:

1.1V => 220mA

1.8V => 60mA

2.5V => 100mA

3.3V IO => 80mA

Perhaps the issue is that the max for VDDIO (1.8V) is missing since 3.3V IO was listed. Without this, 17mA + 52mA (nom) > 60mA (max).

If you use max IO power 3.3Vx80mA = 246mw and divide over 1.8V, the max current for VDDIO would be 147mA which seems significantly higher than a nom of 17mA. Also, this device appears to use less power when operated with 1.8V compared to 3.3V. Can you provide maximums for 1.8V IO operation?
