Connecting DP83867 PHYs back-to-back via SGMII Interface

On another thread it is indicated that two DP83867 PHYs could be connected back-to-back via SGMII, as long as auto-negotiation is disabled (RX_CTRL = Mode 4). Are there any other considerations that must be made to get this configuration working? Thanks.

Hello,

Sorry I missed this thread because of some internal issue. I am not aware of any such requirment but I am double checking if there is any requirement of auto-neg disable while connecting 867's Sgmii back to back.

Hello,

Sorry to keep you waiting on this. I checked with design team and we could not identify a scenario where disabling Sgmii auto-neg is required. I am trying to get a setup in lab where we can hook up two sgmii back to back but dont have right boards with Sgmii connectors as of now. Do you already have the connections done on your system? So if it is working on your system already then it should work all the time.
