DS90UB962-Q1: Compatibility of UB962 to 4x UB953

Dear TI engineer,

According to the UB962 datasheet,it shows UB962 compatible to 4xUB935.

We want to know that do UB962 also compatible to 4xUB953 ?

Hello Andy,

Yes, the UB962 is compatible with UB953. You need only to make sure you do not have more than 2.528 Gbps CSI-2 Video Bandwidth Per Channel.

Hello Hamzeh,

We use 4x raw data camera sensor with HDR, 1344 * 968 * (4 * 16) *30 *1.25 =2.418Gbps. ( (4*16) =camera raw data per bit )

Does this case can use 962+4x953 ?

Hi Andy,

yes, your data is below the 2.528Gbps/channel.

But ub962 Tx CSI =1.6Gbps x 4lane.

If I want to output 4xcamera(4x2.418Gbps)at same time, does ub962 work normally?

Oh Sorry, I was thinking of the UB960. Ofcourse the 960 has only 1x CSI-2 port, so it can't handle these datarates.

The 962 can support max output bandwidth = 5.6Gbps, means 1.4Gbps CSI data per each RX port.

Hello Hamzeh ,

We have to output 4 camera to 1 mipi bus, in this case , could you recommend a chip for us?

4x 2M camera -> Des chip -> mipi bus -> Main chip

Andy,

the 962 can support 4x2Mp Cameras but not in 4*16 format.

to be able to support the 4*16 format you need a much higher CSI bandwidth. We may discuss this via email since this is a public forum.
